Radio 1 and Radio Leeds link-up for debate

Newsbeat’s Tina Daheley and Chris Smith are live in Leeds tonight for an election debate special.

The programme will be broadcast live on Radio 1, BBC Radio Leeds and the BBC News Channel featuring questions from people aged 18-24 years old.

It’ll be live at 9pm on all three channels then repeated at 11:20pm on BBC Two. The subject of the debate is ‘do you trust politicians?’.

Taking part in the audience debate will be: Sam Gyimah (Conservative), Sadiq Khan (Labour), Sal Brinton (Liberal Democrats), Mhairi Black (SNP) and Rhun ap Iorwerth (Plaid Cymru).

Newsbeat will be live in Birmingham discussing young people’s views on immigration, the NHS and education on April 21st then on 28 April, will be live in Edinburgh discussing young people’s views on the economy.
