Radio is the best medium says Nick Ferrari

Television presenter and former newspaper editor Nick Ferrari loves radio compared to other media because there’s no manipulation on the stories.

Nick was speaking at the Student Radio Conference where he said newspapers and television can make a story out of nothing and making it look interesting, unlike live radio.

He was being interviewed by colleague Cormac MacMahon, head of Global’s Newsteam in the South West and discussed his radio career and daily schedule. He has a producer who works with him during the afternoons looking at planning ahead to the next day, who keeps him informed.

Nick was talking about life in radio and joked: “I leave 15 minutes after the show because other wise your manager will hold you back and think of something to talk about. I urge you to remember that as you enter your radio careers – leave after your show before you get stuck!”.

The LBC Breakfast presenter revealed he’s on the road next week on the run up to the General Election with a “Battle Bus” touring the UK kicking off in Glasgow, something he said he is looking forward to.

Nick Ferrari joined LBC in 2004 after four years at Talk Radio and has recently won the Breakfast Show of the Year award at the Radio Academy Awards, as well as the Arqiva Presenter of the Year award.
