Scottish comedy award for Capital Breakfast

Capital FM’s breakfast show with Des & Jennie has scooped Best Radio Show at the Scottish Comedy Awards in Glasgow.

Up against three BBC Scotland radio shows, Des & Jennie won with over 200 Scottish comedians, promoters, producers and journalists voting for them.

James Maguire, Capital FM producer, said: “We are thrilled to have won Best Radio Show at the Scottish Comedy Awards. We always strive to ensure we provide our listeners with the best possible wakeup call every morning across Central Scotland and this award, voted by our comedy & radio industry peers, means we must be doing something right.”

Des Clarke, Capital FM breakfast presenter added: “This show is all about the listeners. We just have a laugh every morning and we are delighted they love what we do!”

The Scottish Comedy Awards were set up last year by promoter Alan Anderson as a reaction to what he said was years of Scottish acts being ignored at the British Comedy Awards.

This year’s ceremony was hosted by Still Game’s Sanjeev Kohli and River City’s Tom Urie.
