Rhys Hughes, Head of Programmes, BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra says: “Radio 1 has always attracted and worked with some of the best global DJs and will continue to do so as we go into the summer season. We’re very excited to welcome the new additions and I’m more than certain our audiences will enjoy the diverse mix of music that they will bring.”

SBTRKT says: “BBC Radio 1 has been a large part in my journey making and playing music – from listening to new music on Westwood and Pete Tong when growing up to finding new music through Gilles Peterson & Benji B, Mary Anne Hobbs, the Essential Mixes, the Maida Vale sessions and all the DJs who have supported my music and performances to this day! It will be a great honour to get to play some inspiring music on the Residency show!”

Breach says: “I’m honoured to be joining such a great radio station with a rich musical heritage, I can’t wait to introduce the listeners to the marvellous music I’m so lucky to be around.”
