Exeter’s Radio Exe snaps up Judi Spiers

Former BBC Radio Devon presenter Judi Spiers is joining commercial station Radio Exe for a new show.

The Sunday morning show will be in association with he family business, Michael Spiers Jewellers, and feature local news and classic hits.

Judi was let go by BBC Radio Devon in June after 15 years with the station. She started her career in the South West, at the regional ITV station, becoming a national name via BBC1 in the 80s and 90s with Open Air and Pebble Mill. She also spend a number of years presenting weekends on BBC Radio 2.

Radio Exe’s managing director Paul Nero said: “We’re thrilled that Michael Spiers Jewellers has enabled us to bring Judi to Radio Exe. She’s a true gem.”

Judi added: “I’ve been hugely impressed with the energy, creativity and professionalism of the Radio Exe team. They understand their audience, love the area and simply want to make great radio that engages with listeners. So together that’s what we’re going to do with this show!”
