Radio NewsHub helps raise money for charity
Radio NewsHub is teaming up with client station Radio One Mallorca to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Directors Stephane Otty and Jamie Fletcher – from the Leeds based news provider – will join the station’s breakfast show presenters Richie and Ayesha in a 24 hour radiothon next month.
From midday on Saturday 14 th May until Midday the following day the station will broadcast a non-stop charity show – complete with RNH bulletins each hour.
RNH will invite all of its client stations around the world to take special bulletins for the 24 hour period – and to get their listeners involved too.
Business Development manager Dave Uttley said: “Great Ormond Street hospital is a great cause to raise funds for. When Radio One Mallorca approached us it was it was an easy decision to get involved.”
In addition to Great Ormond Street Hospital the station will also be raising funds for a number of other English and Spanish based charities with a series of on air auctions and challenges.
Programme director Richie Prior said: “We started the Radiothon last year with an idea to raise an extra 5000€ to go towards the Pirates Charity Premiere which raises thousands every year. We tripled our expectations!
This year we are raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital, Help for Heroes, Bloodwise and two local charities, Son Espases Children’s Ward and Calvia Lions. We have listeners from all over the World tuning in and we couldn’t do it without their generosity. We’re delighted the Radio NewsHub team are joining us for this special show.”
