Rock Radio Glasgow in comeback plan

The upcoming Glasgow 96.3FM licence has attracted the attention of former Rock Radio staff.

A new website, rockradioglasgow.com, has appeared asking visitors if they still wish Rock Radio was still on the air.

“If yes, then get behind Tom, Ted and the crew and let’s make this dream come true!,” the site says.

A Facebook page for the potential station has over three thousand likes, but content dates back five years to when the original Rock Radio was broadcasting.

Rock Radio took over the Paisley licence in 2007 when bought by GMG Radio and moved to Real Radio’s HQ. It rebranded to Real Radio XS in 2011.

Ofcom has decided to advertise the frequency after Global gave it back when changing XFM to Radio X. So far only Bauer has announced solid plans to apply for the licence as Clyde Rocks.
