Share Radio has posted a threefold increase in the number of downloads generated by the station comparing April 2016 with April 2015.
From late Autumn, Share Radio started to promote more aggressively its on-demand programming and figures for its website, app and Audioboom channels have gone up, rising from 20,000 monthly averages to over 50,000 in January and 65,000 in April.
Share Radio Commercial Director, Lee Roberts who is responsible for Sales, Marketing and Audience Growth, explained to RadioToday: “Share Radio is a unique station in commercial radio. We are BBC Radio Four meets The FT – no phone-ins and no DJs, just quality speech editorial about money and business.
“Like BBC speech stations, a large proportion of our audience listens on demand. These figures are very encouraging and show how our business is developing as both a publisher and broadcaster of high quality speech programming.”
Share Radio started broadcasting nationally on DAB earlier this year.
