Karen Bradley appointed Culture Secretary
MP for Staffordshire Moorlands Karen Bradley is the new Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport.
She replaces John Whittingdale who left in the Cabinet reshuffle taking place today under Theresa May’s new Government.
Karen became a British Conservative Party politician and the Member of Parliament for Staffordshire Moorlands at the 2010 general election.
In September 2012, she was appointed as an Assistant Government Whip in the Government Whips’ Office. In 2013, she was promoted becoming a Government Whip then in February 2014 she became Minister for Security, based in the Home Office and replacing James Brokenshire.
Before politics, Karen joined Deloitte & Touche in 1991 as a tax manager, and after seven years she became a senior tax manager with KPMG. In 2004 she set up business as a fiscal and economic consultant before rejoining KPMG in 2007, where she remained until her election to the House of Commons.
