Stan Collymore exits talkSPORT after 8 years

talkSPORT presenter Stan Collymore has announced online that he is leaving the station.

He tweeted that the station has decided to withdraw its contract offer from May this year, and that if anyone wants a highly motivated, audience growing, award winning and passionate broadcaster dedicated to engaging with football fans around the country, to “give him a call!”

Stan joined talkSPORT in 2008 after leaving 5 live to become a presenter and co-commentator. Over the years he’s hosted Call Collymore – a phone-in after each Premier League game, the evening show, and was an analyst on the station’s matchday live programme.

He finished his tweet by sayin he “Will comment further when appropriate.”

A talkSPORT spokesperson confirms the news to RadioToday, saying: “We can confirm that our contract with Stan Collymore has come to an end and we have taken the decision not to renew it. We would like to thank Stan for being an integral part of our talkSPORT team over the last eight years and we wish him every success in his future presenting career.”
