Vale Radio to feature in Edinburgh Fringe play
Vale Radio is heading to The Edinburgh Fringe as part of a dark comedy written by Alison Morgan of Tread The Boards Theatre Group.
Vale Radio plays a huge part of the play, where Chris Marsden interviews the band on several occasions, leading to the unfolding storyline, all part of the pre-recorded production.
Chris tells RadioToday: “I am absolutely chuffed that Alison chose Vale Radio as the radio station to be part of this great production. As her local radio station, she thought that the creativity that we show was second to none. As far as I’m aware, this is a Fringe First, where a DAB Digital Radio Station has appeared at The Edinburgh Fringe!”
Alison Morgan, writer and director of Lucky 6 said “We are delighted that Vale Radio took time out to help with the production of Lucky 6. It has been welcomed with open arms in the Yorkshire region and I’m sure the comical or dark side will appeal to that of the Fringe Audience.”
Lucky 6 is the story of a 90s pop group who were massive during the decade. As a manufactured pop band that had it all – the looks, the voices, the moves, the drugs, the booze, the sleaze, the affairs, the manslaughter charges, the arson – oh wait…..Ten years later, they reformed for a one off gig at the O2, but it’s going to take a lot of gaffer tape to keep their skeletons in the closet!
You can catch Lucky 6 playing at Venue 278, Spotlights on George Street this August at The Edinburgh Fringe.
