He says now is the time to do something new, and will miss the industry hugely, but will be leaving Arqiva at the end of August.
Ben has been at Arqiva since 2011, joining from RCS where he was UK Managing Director. He writes: “Radio has been my passion and my life for the past 30 years, but after almost 5 years at Arqiva I have taken the decision to try my hand at something new. It’s a bit daunting at my age but I feel that if I don’t do it now then I never will, as one of my mentors once said to me ‘you don’t want to die wondering’.
“I will miss the industry hugely but more importantly the amazing people that I have met and been lucky enough to have worked with throughout my career in radio. It truly is a vibrant and exciting industry to have been part of, with so many great memories, so I’d like to say thank you so very much to all who’ve made it so enjoyable.
“I still pinch myself when people ask me how did you get into radio? I tell them that it was as simple as a handwritten letter to Radio Mercury my local radio station, Steve Hyland opened it and called me I still get goose bumps thinking about that now…”
Good luck Ben, and thanks for your support from all at RadioToday.
