Changes on Muxco’s multiplex in the North West

Ofcom has approved a number of changes on Muxco’s North East Wales & West Cheshire DAB digital radio multiplex.

The changes see the removal of Chris Country in DAB+ stereo and the addition of Nation Gold at 80kbps in mono. Nation Gold broadcasts from South Wales and is also available on the Cardiff & Newport, Mid & West Wales and North West Wales multiplexes.

Capital Liverpool has been replaced with the programmes of Capital Wrexham and Love 80s Liverpool has been added in DAB+ stereo.

Other changes see Nation Radio switch from 80kbps mono to 32kbps stereo on DAB+, and Dee on DAB changing from 112kbps stereo to 80kbps mono.

North East Wales & West Cheshire remains home to BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio Cymru, Wirral Radio and Sandgrounder Radio.

In other recent multiplex news, JACK and JACK 2 have moved from 80 kbps mono to DAB+ stereo on Muxco Surrey whilst two new yet unannounced speech services are launching on the Portsmouth minimux.
