DAB radio transmitter launched in Aldershot

The small-scale DAB trial for Aldershot has added a second transmitter to its service to expand the coverage area.

The service is provided by BFBS, which has been offering a number of radio stations from a transmitter site in Woking but now has added a transmitter based in Aldershot too. The Ofcom trials of these SSDAB services are due to run until summer of 2018.

The minimux carries BFBS Aldershot, Radio Caroline, Electric, Radio Woking, The Breeze, Angel Radio and BFBS Beats.

“We are excited to offer these new DAB services from today, having been awarded one of only ten small-scale temporary DAB licences in the UK and to have this opportunity to expand coverage to Aldershot,” said Nick Beer, Head of Projects and Development for BFBS Technology.
