Radio Aire’s Content Controller Simon Nicks is joining BFBS as a Content Manager.
Nicksy, previously with Hallam FM, Star Radio, Wire FM, Key 103 and Galaxy Manchester, starts his new role this month along with two other Content Managers who have been appointed internally – Richard Hutchinson and Mike Howarth. Between them, they’ll support the 18 stations that make up the BFBS network.
“It’s a huge honour to be joining such a unique and superb broadcasting organisation – it really is a hidden gem. This is a chance to work with some brilliant people, who have such a love for their audience, many of whom are posted in challenging locations around the world,” he said.
“I know how important the BFBS programmes are to our forces community both in the UK and abroad, and I’m really excited about the part I can play in coaching, crafting and creating great content.
Nicky Ness, Director of Forces Radio, BFBS, said: “We are delighted to welcome Nicksy to the team as he clearly shares a common passion for the Armed Forces and our audience. He’ll bring a wealth of multi-platform content experience and ideas to the role which is great fit for our ongoing strategy.”
On leaving Bauer, Simon said: “I will be sad to leave behind some talented people at Hallam FM in South Yorkshire, and more recently, a lovely bunch at Radio Aire in Leeds, who I wish all the very best!”
