AHJ appointed Head of Programmes at Radio 1

Aled Haydn Jones has been promoted to Head of Programmes at BBC Radio 1, replacing Rhys Hughes.

The former Chris Moyles Show producer has most recently been hosting The Surgery, and is a senior producer at the station. He tweeted today to confirm his new position.

“I’m very proud to announce that I have a new job! Honoured to say that I’m the new Head of Programmes at @BBCR1! ❤️?? (Sorry been quiet)”

Aled joined BBC Radio 1 in 1998 as a broadcast assistant on the Roadshow, and started work on the Chris Moyles show in 2002 before moving with him to breakfast in 2004.

Rhys Hughes has moved to a new year-long role at BBC Music.
