Changes at Magic as Ronan and Harriet start

Gary Vincent is leaving Magic after 13 years on mid-mornings to make way for upcoming schedule changes.

Current breakfast show host Nick Snaith will move to mid-mornings as Ronan and Harriet take-over Breakfast from Monday 4th September.

Gary has been with the Bauer station since September 2003 and presented weekdays ever since. He started his radio career at the age of 14 with ten years voluntary service on hospital radio in London. He later joined GWR where he broadcast for 15 years before joining the Magic daytime line-up.

Tony Moorey, Group Content Director of Magic and Absolute Radio said “Ronan and Harriet’s imminent arrival to Breakfast is the centre piece for what continues to be a very exciting evolution for the Magic brand and the incredibly talented Nick Snaith will continue his surge during the newly created mid-morning slot.

“As part of the changes, sadly Gary Vincent will be leaving Magic after over 13 years of stellar service at the station. Gary is the epitome of a gentleman and a first-class broadcaster and we want to wish him the very best for the future”

In addition, Tom Price has been promoted from weekend afternoons to weekend breakfast in place of Harriet, and Matt Brown, former Heart Thames Valley breakfast show host takes up weekend afternoons (Sat 3-6pm, Sun 1-4pm).

Professional broadcaster tossed aside for yet more celebrities. When will this pathetic idea that TV/Pop stars make good radio ever end. These big boy companies seriously need taking down but alas we only have Ofcom who care nothing about the quality of what is being broadcast except when somebody accidently swears live on air which is a hanging offence. Four giant companies owning and swallowing up virtually every commercial radio station in the UK apparently not such a big deal for them!

Sad and sorry to hear Gary is going. He makes our day, listening to him at work, it’s very easy listening and we will miss him
Really dislike Tom Price and his voice so will be switching off this
Ronan has a very hard accent so again, not pleasant to listen to, especially on waking. Sadly, may now be checking other stations

Sorry to see Gary Vincent leaving especially because Ronan Keating is joining. Stick to the singing Ronan you are not a radio presenter. Big mistake by Magic shall switch to another station.
