UKRD Group has announced Luke McPeake as its new Head of Production, combining his current role with the work of departing Colin McGinness.
At the moment Luke is Head of Commercial Production, and will take up the new role from 1st October. Colin is leaving his job as Production Manager, but will return to UKRD for a part-time role later in the year following an extended break back home in Australia.
Dave Coull, Group Content Director, told RadioToday: “The architect of the critically acclaimed Armistice Day production, the producer behind the Local Radio Day production and the company’s ‘go-to-guy’ for all things production for 16 years, Col’s contribution to UKRD’s success has been significant. I am therefore delighted that Col will continue to be part of the UKRD family when he returns from Australia in November.”
Luke McPeake joined the company in 2014 from UTV and was later promoted from Commercial Producer to Head of Commercial Production, managing UKRD’s internal comm prod department. He says: “I am blown away to have been offered this opportunity to shape the future direction of the UKRD production department. Working with the incredibly talented Alex, Damian, Martin and Colin I am hugely excited about the future and the contribution the Production Department will continue to make towards the success of UKRD.”
Dave Coull added: “With a leadership style that marries perfectly with our company’s culture, coupled with his commitment, production expertise and professionalism made Luke the ideal candidate for this well-deserved promotion.”
UKRD owns and operates 12 local radio stations including Pirate FM, Eagle Radio, KLFM, Minster FM and 2BR. It runs a number of digital-only stations including MyMusicRadio and Encore Radio.
