Here’s the launch schedule for BFBS on DAB+

Forces Radio BFBS launched on DAB+ in parts of the UK on Wednesday morning, nine months after leaving the D1 national multiplex.

X Factor finalist Jay James and presenter Hal Stewart, are part of the station line-up with their ‘The Big Show’, whilst former Magic co-host, Verity Geere, and Richard Hatch, are now waking up the nation with their breakfast show every weekday morning on DAB+.

Glyn Jones, Digital Radio Commercial Manager at Arqiva, said: “Arqiva has had a strong relationship with the Forces Network across our TV and radio platforms for many years. We’re therefore delighted to welcome Forces Radio BFBS onto the national Sound Digital Multiplex.

“The station’s arrival on DAB+ is another sign of the strength of digital radio in the UK, and its ability to reach audiences in a cost-effective way. The choice of stations available on digital radio continues to grow and as the percentage of radio listening taking place on digital nears 50%, it is absolutely the platform to be on.”

Here’s how the station describes the line-up:

Hatch and Geere on Breakfast: Verity Geere and Richard Hatch wake up the nation with everything new since yesterday and get members of the forces community involved. Weekdays 6.30-10am.

Totally Connected: The pick of forces stories from around the globe; competitions, guests and fun from the forces world to help the working day pass a little quicker. Weekdays 10am-1pm.

Amy Casey: Our own tame antipodean follows the lives of forces personalities worldwide, and she plays music too – blimey mate, that’s amazing! Weekdays 1-4pm.

The Big Show:  Every day brings its own unique gifts on this show, from celebrity interviews to joining Jay and Hal on their travels around the UK on their ‘Big Show Big Days Out,’ visiting the Forces in their own surroundings with plenty of off-the- wall humour and great music. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, 4-7pm.

Nicky Smith: Nicky takes the helm at the end of the day, with less talk (that’s pretty difficult) and more music! She’s joined by guests and covers a whole array of subjects, including the latest showbiz gossip. Weekdays 7-9pm.

Sitrep: The award-winning weekly defence analysis programme that invites experts from the military, academic and political worlds to analyse and anticipate developments in defence and foreign affairs matters.  Hosted by Kate Gerbeau with resident expert Christopher Lee. Thursdays 6.30-7pm.
