Radiocentre’s Mark Barber joins media agency
Independent media agency December 19 has appointed Mark Barber, planning director of Radiocentre, as its first non-executive director.
Mark will be tasked with providing objective strategic advice to the agency as it develops its long-term vision and act as a mentor to staff to help them achieve this. The role will be additional to his ongoing position at Radiocentre, which is unaffected by this appointment.
The appointment comes as December 19 looks to grow its roster of clients which includes Viking Cruises, Columbus Direct, ecco, Mahabis, La-Z- Boy, Propertymark and David Morris – the London Jeweller.
December 19 joint-founder, Dave Barnett said: “The appointment of Mark is an important part of our growth strategy, allowing us to tap into his strategic thinking and his wealth of knowledge of the media landscape. Mark Barber MBE began his media career in the early 80s working at a number of agencies before joining Universal McCann in 1990, where he spent 11 years in a variety of roles including group account director and communications strategy director. He is currently planning director at Radiocentre having joined the radio industry body in 2001. In 2015 he received an MBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honour’s list for services to commercial radio.
December 19 was set up in 2010 by Dan Pimm and Dave Barnett and remains a fully independent media agency that places business karma at the heart of every decision they make.
