Andrew Castle leaves Smooth weekend show

.

Former Smooth Radio London breakfast presenter Andrew Castle is doing his last regular show for the station tonight, as Gary Vincent takes over Sunday’s Smooth Sanctuary.

Andrew joined the station in 2014 to present the morning show in the capital. He then moved to Sunday evenings after two years to host The Great American Songbook, which changed to The Smooth Sanctuary from the start of 2018.

The former UK tennis number 1 and GMTV presenter has also been doing Weekend Breakfast on LBC since leaving the Smooth weekday breakfast show.

Gary Vincent – who joined Smooth last year after many years at Magic – will now do Sunday to Friday evenings 6-10pm.

A Smooth spokesperson said: “Andrew Castle will be handing over to Gary Vincent as the presenter of The Smooth Sanctuary on Sunday evenings, starting March 25th. Andrew remains part of the Smooth family and will present a whole host of shows for us over the months ahead.”

I was gutted when he stopped doing the breakfast show. It immediately got boring. Now I can’t listen to his smooth sanctuary. Such a shame, but I’m looking forward to whatever he moves on to.
