Radio 2 to broadcast Ken Dodd tribute show


Following the news of his death this week, Radio 2 is re-broadcasting a 2013 tribute documentary to Ken Dodd.

In a special programme hosted by Liza Tarbuck, Ken talked about his childhood in Knotty Ash, his early career, great success, his joy of performing and why he would never retire. We also discover Ken’s serious acting career, the origins of the Diddy People and the Tickling Stick.

A host of friends pay tribute including Russ Abbot, Michael Billington, John Fisher, “Diddy” David Hamilton, Roy Hudd, The Right Reverend James Jones (Bishop of Liverpool), Mick Miller, Jim Moir, Kay O’Dwyer, Claire Sweeney, Jimmy Tarbuck and Johnnie Casson.

The show will be broadcast from 11pm till midnight this Wednesday, in place of Old Grey Whistle Test 40. That episode of Old Grey Whistle Test 40 will be broadcast on the 21st March at 11pm.
