Kirsty Gallacher joins BBC Radio 5 Live for 606

Presenter Kirsty Gallacher is joining the team on BBC Radio 5 Live’s football phone-in programme 606 this season.

Kirsty will present the football phone-in show for the first time this Saturday, 18 August, between 6pm and 8pm, and will return numerous times throughout the season.

On Saturday, she will join co-host Robbie Savage on the programme that hears fans’ reactions to the day’s football news and results. 606’s team of presenters also includes Jason Mohammad, Chris Sutton and Alistair Bruce-Ball.

Kirsty Gallacher has enjoyed a 20-year career at Sky Sports News, anchoring their flagship show and fronting coverage of major annual sporting events including The Ryder Cup and The Masters. Kirsty continues to front ITV1’s Soccer Aid – the charity football match which pits celebrities against legendary footballers – alongside Dermot O’Leary.

Kirsty said: “606 has been on air over 25 years and is staple listening for football fans across the country. I’m excited to be joining the team at BBC Radio 5 Live and I can’t wait to pair up with Robbie Savage on Saturdays to hear from fans, who we know will always be brutally honest, about their team’s performance.”

In other news, BBC Radio 1Xtra presenter Nick Bright will host The Squad where he’ll be analysing the weekend’s games through the eyes of young fans, YouTubers, podcasters and celebrity guests each Sunday afternoon.

There’s also a new role for Kelly Cates who presents 5 Live Sport on Tuesday evenings and, following the World Cup Daily, the Football Daily Podcast brings fans the best analysis, reactions and interviews each day.
