talkSPORT 2 makes the move to News UK building

News UK is welcoming the talkSPORT 2 team to its building as the station moves out of its home in Hatfields.

The station is tweeting video content of the presenters in the new studio from this morning, which is in Southwark overlooking the River Thames, next to The Shard.

Virgin Radio is already broadcasting from the News UK HQ, with Chris Evans currently using the future talkRADIO studio ahead of a larger studio being completed for his own show and the rest of the station.

talkSPORT will move in next, followed by talkRADIO later this year.

Russ Williams tweeted that he’ll be in the new place to host a programme, and shared a picture from one of the brand new studios.

Head of talkSPORT Lee Clayton said: “talkSPORT 2 has a shiny new home that is now fit for its first class coverage. The station has had a golden year, broadcasting a growing roster of exclusive live sport and has rightly been recognised for its excellent cricket coverage, winning the best live sports broadcast award at the British Sports Journalism Awards for the Sri Lanka tour. The rest of the talkSPORT team are now raring to move in as we create our very own sporting mecca in London Bridge.”

talkSPORT has been in Hatfields since 2000, having moved out of Oxford Street where it started life as talkRADIO in 1995.

Mike Bovill, Programme Director at talkSPORT 2 tweeted before and after shots, from the old building to the new.
