Pulse in West Yorkshire has appointed Jacqui Blay as Content Controller, succeeding Tony McKenzie.

Jacqui is being promoted from her current role as Head of Presentation and host of Mid Mornings on Pulse 2, and has been at the two stations for almost 20 years.

Station Director, Roger Cutsforth said “it’s a bittersweet moment as we bid a fond farewell to Tony Mac, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed our time working together and I’m incredibly grateful for the legacy Tony has left us, but I’m also really looking forward to working with Jacqui and building upon our success. Jacqui was the outstanding candidate and has Pulse coursing through her veins.”

Terry Underhill, Group Programme Director added “we’re incredibly excited to welcome Jacqui into the role of Content Controller at Pulse 1 and 2, the most listened to stations in the area. She’s been a fantastic member of the team for many years and this promotion into the top job is truly well deserved. We’ll all miss Tony and I wish him well in his new venture.”

Jacqui Blay said “I’m incredibly lucky to have worked with such a great team here over the years and I’m delighted to take on this new role which will see me work more closely with our talented bunch of presenters. We have some exciting times ahead for our stations and I can’t wait to work with Roger, Terry and the team to continue to create great engaging local radio for West Yorkshire. A huge thank you to Tony for his invaluable support and guidance and I wish him all the very best.”

Massive congratulations to Jacqui Blay. I love listening to Pulse 1 and Pulse 80’s. I’m just hoping that the whole thing with the Bauer purchase doesn’t ruin a great station and becomes a network relay, if it all goes through.
