There’s a new addition to the talkRADIO weeknight schedule as Darryl Morris takes over from Paul Ross, who moves to talkSPORT.
Darryl joins talkRADIO full time to host 1am till 5am, whilst Paul Ross now hosts the same slot on its sister station.
In addition, Paul Coyte is launching an early sports breakfast show at 5am across the talkSPORT network.
“I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am to do this every day. I’m going to jump in with both feet and see what adventures await,” Darryl posted on social media.
Darryl has worked at The Hits, Galaxy, XFM, Rock FM and BBC Radio Manchester
Head of talkSPORT Lee Clayton said: “It’s great to have Paul join the talkSPORT team. He is a versatile and talented broadcaster who will bring with him a wealth of experience to the station and sports chat through the night. Following Paul’s slot, we are delighted that Paul Coyte will be launching the Early Sports Breakfast, with all the sporting news for early risers across the talkSPORT network.”
talkRADIO Programme Director Dennie Morris said: “Paul has been a huge influence on talkRADIO’s identity. His highlights include launching the station on our very first breakfast show, broadcasting live from the base of the Grenfell Tower and delivering a four hour breakfast show from the scene of the London Bridge attacks. We wish him well at talkSPORT and we are delighted that the excellent Darryl Morris (no relation) is joining the team.”

Poor Paul.
He probably thought he had won a watch when he got the breakfast show on Talkradio, then he gets moved to the graveyard shift.
Now he gets moved to Talksport.
I guess this could look like a positive as more people can access Talksport.
Talksport has much higher listening figures overall so its probably a step up. Shame he got moved from breakfast, he was a lot more engaging than JHB who’s just another politically oriented bore. But I suppose they wanted someone similar to LBCs Nick Ferrari.
Paul Ross is an excellent communicator with an engaging personality and should be on primetime.
Congratulations Darryl.
It looks like an episode of ” W.K.R.P in Cincinnati” down there at Talk Radio/ Sport these days. Paul Ross should have stayed on Breakfast, and Bob Mills should have stayed on Sunday Night.,. I suppose we should be grateful that John Nicholson didn’t get a 6 hour show when Bob went to Saturday, and they didn’t mess with Howard Hughes , and his flying saucers from outer space.
Agree about Nicholson. The man is just audio tranquiliser, god knows what the appeal is. He was fine as an autocue reading talking head on the BBC but as a radio host he’s just dire.
I remember working with Darryl back in those Galaxy days. Looking forward to hearing him on talk radio. I hope he can handle it.
Why was Paul Ross moved from Talkradio breakfast?
JHB’s tirades and tales of an only child can get very wearing and a concern that so much has happened to someone so young living in an apparently very smart part of Camden.
DARRYL MORRIS WELCONME TO TALKRIO9 YOU WILL BRING LISTENERS WITH YOU FROM CALAXT RADIO AND PAUL WILL BRING LISTENERS FROM TALRADIO T TALKSPORT BET TALKRADIO WILL NEXT SIGN SIMO FARAZ FROM LBC ON DRIVE AND TEUR CURREBT DRUIVUE WLL END UO ON TALK SPORTS ON WEEKEND OVERNINGHT.
Give Philip from South Norwood his own show, and give Ken from ” Whale, and Ash” a religious show on Sunday night on Talk Radio. And how about kidnapping Clive Bull, and Nick Abbott from LBC for Talk Radio
I think they should persuade Brian Hayes to come out of retirement.
and persuade half a dozen or so of the current crop to take retirement.
it would be good to hear brian hayes again somewhere doing a few shows.
anyone knows where he is.
He is 81 and enjoying his retirement.
