Former radio presenter opens podcast studio in London

Former Capital and Heart presenter Neil Bentley has opened an acoustically treated podcast studio in London.

The PodSpot is part of WEBVID, Neil’s creative digital agency.

Neil says: “Up until now anyone producing a podcast has had limited options. It’s either recording in a none treated space or hiring a post-production studio. The latter is often expensive and usually only gives you the option to have 1 or 2 participants.

With PodSpot we can accommodate up to six participants. It’s in a fantastic location and we’ll even throw in free soft drinks for the length of your session!”

The new studio is part of WEBVID’s HQ at Offely Works near Oval tube station.

Equipment includes Audio Technica, Neumann, Rode & Shure microphones, Midas 32r Mixing Desk, Rodecaster Pro Podcast Mixing Desk, Acoustically treated podcast pod, Genelec monitoring, Beyerdynamic and Sony headphones, Blackmagic ATEM Studio HD, Go Pro Hero 7, Blackmagic Mini Ursa Pro, Canon C300/100 & XF cameras.

I guess this is the future for all the staff global have let go – podcasting, internet radio and maybe voice overs. If it was me I’d retrain and get out of the industry altogether, its only going to get worse.
