A 15-part series focussing on people who are caring for others during the Coronavirus crisis is being offered to any commercial, community or online radio station in the UK.
Funding has been provided through the Audio Content Fund for the programmes, which will be short-form interviews with carers and those they care for.
John Dash, who’s part of the team producing ‘Caring for Carers’, told RadioToday: “The series looks at how this important and amazing group of people are coping during this pandemic and what lessons we can learn from them as we all strive to care that bit more for others during these times.”
42 stations had signed up to take the programming at the time of the application for the government funding to produce it, but that’s now risen to more than 60. Stations have until Wednesday 29th April if they would like to register to receive the content to put on air.
The series will be hosted by Gyles Brandreth – and there’ll also be a website for listeners to get more information about organisations that can help carers – both nationally and in the local areas of the stations that will be broadcasting the interviews.
Any stations wishing to broadcast the content should email cfcarers@gmail.com.
