Daytime schedule changes for BBC Radio Cornwall

Changes for BBC Radio Cornwall this September will see David White and Julie Skentelbery swapping weekday shows.

David has hosted the Daytime programme for 25 years but moves to Drive whilst Julie takes over Afternoons.

Stephanie Marshall, head of BBC South West, told RadioToday: “What an exciting time at BBC Radio Cornwall, these changes have been made with the listener at the forefront of our minds.

“The pandemic has forced us to find new ways of working and we believe these changes will better serve our loyal listeners and they will love these new programmes.”

David White said: “I’ve loved working on the Daytime programme, 25 years have flown by! But now is the right time for a new challenge and I can’t wait to get going on Afternoons and help take the listeners home with all the best music, all the day’s news, plus the right amount of fun.”

Julie Skentelbery says she plans to give the audience a chance to open up and talk about the big stories of the day. She said: “I’m so excited for this new challenge and can’t wait to take our great listeners with me on this new adventure.

“I want to take a deeper look at local stories and allow people the time to really open up on air about the stories that matter most to them.”
