Schedule changes at Virgin Radio’s spin off brands

There are new schedules coming for Virgin Radio Anthems UK, Virgin Radio Chilled UK and Virgin Radio Groove UK.

Virgin Radio Pride UK presenters Shivani Dave will present Saturday and Sunday at 12-4pm on Virgin Radio Chilled UK, Alex Milsom will present each Saturday and Sunday at 6-10am on Virgin Radio Groove UK, with Vicki Blight each Sunday afternoon at 2-6pm on Virgin Radio Anthems UK and Bodg presenting each Saturday and Sunday afternoon at 2-6pm on Virgin Radio Groove UK.

Meanwhile Rich Williams moves from Afternoons on Virgin Radio Groove UK to afternoons on Virgin Radio Anthems UK at 2-6pm on Monday to Friday. Plus Jez Welham moves from weekends on Virgin Radio Groove UK to Afternoons on Virgin Radio Groove UK at 2-6pm on Monday to Friday.

Shivani, Alex and Vicki all joined the Virgin Radio UK family in the summer of 2021 presenting on Virgin Radio Pride UK, which will return this summer.

Shivani is a broadcaster who has previously worked with the BBC, The Guardian, Gaydio and more and has since been hosting the Virgin Radio UK Pridecast, continuing the important conversations about LGBTQ+ life that began on the station. Shivani has been a regular cover presenter – or supply teacher – on Virgin Radio Chilled UK.

Shivani Dave said: “I am so excited to be a fully-fledged presenter on Virgin Radio Chilled UK. I usually joke with the listeners that I am their supply teacher, so I really hope this means I don’t have to start marking homework! In all seriousness, I can’t wait to spend my weekends kicking back with the loveliest listeners and playing the most chilled out tracks.”

Vicki Blight is the presenter of Weekend Early Breakfast on BBC Radio Wales, as well as being a regular part of the Football Phone in ‘Call Rob Phillips’. She is also one of the contributor presenters for BBC One Wales’ Wales Live TV programme having recently filmed pieces on ‘Type 1 Diabetes & Mental Health’ and ‘Plastic Pollution vs Climate Change’.

In the Summer of 2021, she presented a weekend show on Virgin Radio Pride UK and also presented and produced LGBTQ+ Rocks for Virgin Radio UK.

Bodg has presented Weekend shows on The Hits Network across the UK as well as been host of Capital Breakfast across the North East for 8 years, winning a Bronze award for Best Breakfast Show at the Arqivas.

Virgin Radio UK Content Director, Mike Cass told RadioToday: “Shivani, Alex and Vicki are fantastic full-time additions to our network following their extraordinary work on Virgin Radio Pride UK last summer.

“Meanwhile Rich and Jez will continue their excellent rapport with listeners in new slots and Bodg brings great experience from across the industry, as we set out to play more great music across our family of stations.”

Changes start on January 31st.
