Peter Milburn returns to radio in Gwent with a Sentimental Journey

Gwent Broadcasting’s original morning show host Peter Milburn is making a return to radio there.

Peter presented the show on Gwent Broadcasting from 1983, and continued in that slot when the station was merged into Red Dragon Radio two years later, subsequently becoming programme director and then managing director.

Now, Peter hosts a syndicated radio show called Sentimental Journey which has just been signed up by Gwent Radio. It will air each Sunday at 10am.

Gwent Radio becomes the 20th station to take the show – a mixture of classic songs from the fifties onwards, forgotten gems and easy-listening favourites, together with Peter’s stories about the many personalities he’s met in his career.

Peter said: “I’m so pleased to be back on local radio in Gwent. Some of the happiest times I spent in radio were in that part of the world – it’s a very special place to me.”

Gwent Radio’s Sean Rafferty added: “Peter was one of the main personalities on Gwent Broadcasting years ago, with a big following. We’re delighted he’s coming back.”

Other stations taking the Sentimental Journey are Canalside Radio, Radio Alty, Swindon 105.5, Tameside Radio, Elastic FM, Steel FM, West Somerset Radio, Pure West Radio, 3TFM, Salford City Radio Carillon Well Being Radio, Radio Tamworth, Bayside Radio, Beverley FM, Bradley Stoke Radio, Sentimental Radio, Radio Tyneside, Care Radio and Winchester Radio.

The two-hour weekly show is provided to stations free of charge. Any broadcaster interested in taking the show can contact the distributor, John Dash Media, by email john@johndash.media.
