DEC support ads for Myanmar now available for all stations to air

The latest Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) appeal for people affected by the earthquake in Myanmar is now live and adverts are available for radio stations to play.

The new appeal has been supported by Radiocentre and voiced by Smooth Radio and Classic FM presenter Myleene Klass. All commercial and community stations are once again being invited to support the DEC.

Saleh Saeed, Chief Executive of the DEC says: “The devastation in Myanmar is heartbreaking, with thousands of people suddenly losing loved ones in the most shocking of ways.

“Myanmar was already in the grip of a severe humanitarian crisis. Now, the situation is ever more critical, with many impacted by this earthquake unable to access shelter, clean water and medical care.

“Funds are urgently needed to help families access life-saving humanitarian aid following this catastrophe. DEC member charities are responding right now in Myanmar and can reach more people with your help.”

While stations are not obliged to take any action, Radiocentre is encouraging stations to participate in this appeal on humanitarian grounds. The DEC would be grateful for the spot to be played as often as possible from today (3rd April) until 16th April 2025.

“The appeal includes 10, 20 and 30 second spots and has been distributed via Audiotrack and can be found with the JCN number 3197862.

Anyone who cannot access Audiotrack should contact helpdesk@audiotrack.co.uk. Community stations looking to run the appeal should contact office@communitymedia.uk. For more information on the appeal more generally contact ava.howard@radiocentre.org.
