Hampshire Tourist Radio to launch on local DAB

A new radio station offering visitor information and local stories is launching on the East Hampshire small-scale DAB multiplex.

Hampshire Tourist Radio will broadcast around the clock, providing information about attractions, local events and places to explore across East Hampshire and the South Downs.

The speech-led service will also be available online at hampshire.touristradio.co.uk, offering a free audio guide for residents and visitors exploring the area’s countryside, market towns and villages.

Programming will include local weather updates, walking routes, travel tips and information about events and activities across the region.

The launch follows the arrival of sister station Isle of Wight Tourist Radio in August 2026, which broadcasts on the Island’s small-scale DAB multiplex and online.

One feature of the Hampshire schedule will be Night Sounds, a six-hour programme featuring recordings of gentle waves from the south coast, without speech or advertising.

The programme is designed to provide relaxing overnight listening, offering something different from the station’s usual visitor information and local features.

Trish Conti, Chief Content Officer at Hampshire Tourist Radio, described Hampshire as being “full of incredible places and hidden gems”.

The station is also inviting local attractions, accommodation providers, event organisers and hospitality businesses to get involved with the service.

Advertising and partnership opportunities will be available to businesses looking to reach visitors exploring the region, with the station aiming to support the local tourism, hospitality and leisure sectors.
