Former BBC Radio 2 producer George Williams is taking his first stage play to this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
George, who was a digital producer for the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 and produced the Dish podcast with Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett, has written Don’t Flush Me Yet, an absurd comedy which will run at the Haldane Theatre, theSpace @ Surgeons’ Hall.
The play follows a lonely older man whose bowel movement becomes sentient, leading to an unlikely friendship as the pair flee Thames Water and head for Brighton. Beneath the comedy, the story explores loneliness, grief and a father coming to terms with loss.
Alongside his radio career, George Williams has spent the past decade producing TV programmes for ITV, including Love Island, I’m A Celebrity and Saturday Night Takeaway. He is currently Senior Digital Producer for the 2026 summer series of Love Island.
George also performs as Britannia, the silver trophy mascot seen at the BRIT Awards.
He is joined by co performer Alan Robinson-Rising, who works at BBC Studios on productions including Doctor Who and David Attenborough programmes.
Don’t Flush Me Yet will be performed daily from 24 to 29 August at 9:20pm during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
