Lucy Horobin joins BBC Radio Berkshire daytimes

Lucy Horobin is joining BBC Radio Berkshire to host a new daily show from next month.

The presenter confirmed the move after spending the past seven months covering maternity leave on BBC Radio Kent’s daytimes.

She said the role in Berkshire will be her own programme, marking the next step after supporting colleagues while they took time away following the birth of their children.

Announcing the news on Instagram, Lucy thanked the BBC Radio Kent team, saying she had “learnt so much” and worked with “some very talented, lovely people”.

She also described it as “such a privilege” to provide maternity cover, allowing presenters to return to their roles when ready.

Lucy said she is now looking forward to joining BBC Radio Berkshire, with a house move to the county planned so she can be closer to family.

She added that she is looking forward to working again with Rich Clarke and also confirmed listeners will continue to hear her on Magic Radio alongside her new show.

Lucy told RadioToday: “I’m thrilled to be joining the brilliant team at BBC Radio Berkshire. I can’t wait to get to know the listeners, to hear their stories and talk about everything that matters to them.”

Executive Editor Duncan McLarty added: “Listeners to BBC Radio Kent will know from Lucy’s successful spell there that she’s warm, witty and full of energy.

“BBC Radio Berkshire’s appeal is all about the relationship we have with our audience, getting to the heart of the things they care about, and being fabulous company. That’s just what Lucy’s going to do, and I’m so pleased she’s becoming part of our weekday team.”

Lucy will be on BBC Radio Berkshire daytimes 10am – 2pm, Monday – Friday from Wednesday 5th August.
