talkSPORT secures Commonwealth Games radio rights

talkSPORT will provide official radio coverage of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow after becoming the first UK commercial radio station to secure broadcast rights.

The station has also announced three new additions to its on air team, with Greg Rutherford, Christine Ohuruogu and Lewis Richardson joining its coverage throughout the Games.

Natalie Sawyer will present Commonwealth Games Kick Off each evening from 7pm across the talkSPORT network alongside Greg Rutherford, who won Commonwealth gold when Glasgow last hosted the event in 2014.

Christine Ohuruogu will join athletics commentary from Scotstoun Stadium, with talkSPORT athletics correspondent Michael Weadock covering track and field alongside her.

John Cushing will report from trackside, interviewing medallists and providing updates across the station.

Lewis Richardson will provide daily boxing analysis, while Georgia Holt returns after contributing to the station’s 2024 Olympic coverage.

Molly Renshaw will analyse the swimming events, with Nigel Adderley, Joe Shennan, Alfie Reynolds and Georgie Heath covering a range of sports across the Games.

The station will broadcast a dedicated live programme every day of competition in association with BYD.

Liam Fisher said the partnership would bring listeners “closer to the action than ever before”, while Katie Sadleir said the coverage would ensure fans could follow the Games wherever they were.
