Isle of Wight Tourist Radio now on DAB

Isle of Wight Tourist Radio has launched for visitors to the Island, broadcasting 24 hours a day on the Wight Digital Radio small-scale DAB multiplex.

The station, which went on air today, provides practical information for tourists, including ferry crossing times, attraction entry details, a rolling calendar of local events, weather updates, tide times, and tips on hiking trails and coastal walks.

The service is designed to help visitors make the most of their stay, offering advice on the best days to visit attractions and sharing local history and folklore.

Alongside its role as a visitor companion, Isle of Wight Tourist Radio says it will support local businesses and attractions by encouraging longer stays and increased spending across the Island’s tourism sector.

Chief Content Officer, Isle of Wight Tourist Radio, Trish Conti said: “Visitors to the Isle of Wight often don’t realise just how much there is to see beyond the obvious attractions. Isle of Wight Tourist Radio is there with them from the moment they arrive — on the radio in the car, at their accommodation, wherever they are.

“But just as importantly, it’s here to support the businesses and attractions that make the Island’s tourism industry what it is. We’d love to hear from anyone on the Island who wants to get involved.”
