Lyca Radio will expand its Birmingham presence to full DAB coverage from Tuesday 1st September.
The station is moving from a limited relay to full digital audio broadcasting across the city, thanks to a partnership with CE Digital.
This upgrade comes after several months during which Lyca Radio operated with lighter output while waiting for more transmission space.
Chief Executive of Lyca Radio Network, Raj Baddhan, said the team has been looking for ways to improve coverage and provide a clearer, more reliable listening experience.
Raj added that the network has grown quickly in recent months, and the move to full Birmingham-wide DAB is an important step, with more developments expected later in the year.
Lyca Radio’s Midlands service already broadcasts on full-scale DAB in Leicestershire, Coventry, Derbyshire, Wolverhampton and Shropshire. With this expansion, Birmingham joins the network’s wider regional footprint, strengthening its presence across the Midlands.
