Boomerang Radio will host Peterborough’s Christmas Lights Switch-on for the first time this November.
The station will take charge of the festivities in Cathedral Square on Friday 20th November, with the event running from around 5pm until 7.30pm and the lights expected to be switched on at around 7pm.
Local choirs, singers and pantomime stars are among the acts due to appear on stage, with Father Christmas also set to attend. Further details about the entertainment will be announced in the coming weeks.
Chris Tibbles, Head of Programming and presenter of Boomerang Breakfast, said: “Boomerang Radio are so excited to be involved in possibly the biggest event of the year in the city. Like previous years, the stage will be full of festive entertainment.”
He added: “Friday November 20th is the date for your diary to join the fun on Cathedral Square as we bring festive sparkle to the city.”
Boomerang Radio launched online in October 2025 before beginning DAB broadcasting in Peterborough in January 2026. It can now be heard on DAB across Peterborough and Cambridge.
The station is also available online through its website, Radioplayer, its app and smart speakers.
