Global CCO Mike Gordon to step down in 2027

Global Chief Commercial Officer Mike Gordon will leave his current role in 2027 after 18 years with the company.

He will remain on the Global Board and become Executive Advisor to Group CEO Simon Pitts once a successor has been appointed.

Mike joined Global in 2008 alongside Stephen Miron, who was Group CEO and is now Chair. During his time overseeing the commercial operation, Global expanded its radio business and introduced DAX, alongside developing its outdoor, podcast, studio and video advertising activities.

Global Founder and Executive President Ashley Tabor King CBE said Mike had been part of the company from its early days and had helped turn its plans into commercial partnerships.

Simon said: “Mike’s legacy at Global is nothing short of remarkable, not simply the scale of the commercial business we have today but also the incredible team he has built.”

Mike said: “I started on the same day as Stephen Miron and I’ve been grateful for every moment at this very special company.”

He added that he was “absolutely delighted to still be a part of Global’s future” after stepping away from the Chief Commercial Officer position.

Before joining Global, Mike was Deputy Managing Director of News International subsidiary News Group Newspapers and spent four years as Managing Director of internet service provider Virtual Internet.

Global says Mike’s successor as Chief Commercial Officer will be announced in due course.
