Paul Oakenfold is taking over Friday nights on Virgin Radio UK with a new 12 week residency.
The DJ and producer will present a three hour programme from 9pm until midnight, beginning on Friday 18th September.
His weekly show will cover the early days of Balearic music, classic house and trance, alongside new releases from his album Mission Underground.
Listeners will also hear tracks from Oakenfold’s studio and Perfecto record label, with the presenter sharing stories and records from throughout his career.
Oakenfold helped bring the Ibiza sound to the UK and became the first DJ to headline Glastonbury. He has toured with U2 and Madonna, and held residencies at Cream in Liverpool, Ministry of Sound in London and several venues in Ibiza.
He has also performed at Mount Everest Basecamp, the Great Wall of China and Stonehenge, while his remix credits include The Cure, U2, Massive Attack, Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Mansun and Radiohead.
Paul said: “The Friday night 9pm to midnight slot is important and lets me become part of the listeners’ weekend experience. I have saved a few exclusive tracks for the show so tune in and check it out.”
Goldierocks will precede the new programme with her Friday night mix of club classics from 6pm until 9pm.
