Radio Wyvern Gold is now broadcasting across Worcester, offering a digital station dedicated to music from the 50s, 60s and 70s.
The new station is available on DAB digital radio, Alexa smart speakers, the Radio Wyvern app and online. The playlist was created through research into the music most remembered by people from across the area.
Although on-air now, the official launch will be on Sunday 4th October, with former Wyvern presenter Sammy Southall set to open the station live on air.
Programme Controller Paul Ellery says the idea came after his father noted there was no station playing the music of his youth.
Paul added the station is for listeners who “still have a deep connection to radio” and want to hear the music they remember.
Daily shows will feature Muff Murfin, one of the original founders of Radio Wyvern, along with other former presenters and familiar voices from Worcester’s music scene.
