Trevor Nelson will return to his BBC Radio 2 show from Monday, 7th September, following a break for surgery.
Trevor will be back in his usual afternoon slot from 2pm to 4pm at the start of next week, and will also return to his BBC Radio 1Xtra show from Sunday, 13 September at 11am.
He announced in June that he would be taking time off from work, and later shared on Instagram that he had undergone surgery for a brain tumour but was recovering well.
Trevor said he would be “slowly easing” back onto the airwaves, starting with Radio 2 on Monday and 1Xtra the following Sunday, and that he looked forward to being with listeners again.
The news was shared this morning during Sara Cox’s Breakfast Show, where Trevor made a light-hearted appearance, saying it was “so good to be home” and inviting listeners to join him on Monday afternoon.
Trevor will make a staggered return to Radio 2, presenting two days next week, three days the following week, and four days the week after, before resuming his full schedule from Monday, 28 September.
DJ Spoony and Clara Amfo will continue to cover some shows during Trevor’s phased return.
