Dave Berry signs for Charlton Athletic

Capital FM breakfast presenter Dave Berry is becoming the youth service ambassador for Charlton Athletic football club’s community trust.

He’ll be involved with youth schemes in Greenwich to get teenagers more active and involved in things like music, performing arts, digital media and volunteering.

Dave is a fan of the League One side and originates from South East London.

He joined the 95.8 Capital FM breakfast show in January this year alongside co-host Lisa Snowdon, taking over from Johnny Vaughan who left the station last year.

Dave said: “Having been born in this part of London, I’ve spent a lot of time in and around the community. I’m a huge Charlton Athletic fan so when I was approached by the trust I was more than happy to offer my support – I’m determined to help the club make this worthy project a success.”

Trust chief executive Jason Morgan added: “It’s great to have Dave on board supporting the trust’s work. He is current and popular with the younger generation, so it is fitting that he is supporting the new youth services in Royal Greenwich. We hope that his presence will encourage youngsters to get involved with the new activities that will be running across the borough where he grew up.”
