Following Mark Goodier’s decision to leave Smooth Radio at the end of the year, Lynn Parsons has been given mornings.
Lynn has been a presenter on Smooth for more than five years and will move from her weekend mid-morning show to weekdays from Monday 17th December. David Prever will join the station as the new weekend mid-morning host.
Real and Smooth Limited Group Programme Director John Simons told RadioToday.co.uk: “It’s great to be able to make Lynn a permanent feature on the weekday schedule. She has a very warm yet knowledgeable style and is well liked by the listeners. She is also one of the UKs most experienced broadcasters. David has provided weekend cover on the station this year and I am delighted to welcome him as a permanent fixture in the schedule.”
Lynn Parsons said: “It’s always been a joy to look after mid-mornings when Mark has been on holiday so It will be a real adventure to be there every weekday morning with a large packet of chocolate biscuits and the best music you’ll find anywhere on the radio.”
A 30-year career in both commercial and BBC radio has seen Lynn work at some of the UKs biggest radio stations including BBC Radio 1, 2 and 3 and the World Service, London’s Capital Radio and Virgin Radio. She joined Smooth Radio in 2007.
David has spent many years on national, local and London stations including Metro Radio, Jazz FM, Magic 105.4, talkSPORT and Heart 106.2. He was also host of Smooth Breakfast in London when it changed from Jazz FM.
Mark Goodier leaves the station in December after six years to dedicate more time to his Wise Buddah Group of companies, of which he is founder and chairman.
