Staff at The Bay were praised and awarded by Chief Inspector Steve Bell from Lancashire Constabulary.
The inspector spoke for five minutes at the radio station’s Christmas party after turning up as a surprise for staff.
He said how The Bay provided a lifeline to the local community and how the emergency services relied upon them during the floods and black outs earlier this month. He then presented staff and presenters with a certificate and engraved trophy.
