Former Radio Luxembourg, Capital, Atlantic 252 and BBC radio presenter and programmer Jeff Graham has died.
During his radio career, he was Group Programme Director for IRG (Wish, Kingdom, Scot FM etc) before it was sold to Wireless Group, Head of Radio for William Hill Group, and Head of Music at West Sound.
Jeff also worked as PD at Rock FM in Lancashire, and BBC Radio Scotland where he started his radio career. Most recently he was heard on Gaydio each weekend.
Jeff’s son Stan informed his friends on Facebook Saturday morning, saying: “It pains me to say but unfortunately my dad passed away this morning. Although he was battling cancer the cause of death is still unclear. I’d like to personally thank everyone for all the support you have given him over the last few months.
R.I.P”
His friend and radio colleague Simon Nicks wrote this fitting tribute on Facebook: “I am sat here in tears after learning that my wonderful friend Jefferson Graham has passed away this morning. From someone I listened to on Radio Luxembourg as a child, to becoming a colleague and more importantly, a friend, this is devastating.
He was always there for advice, and has helped me so much, something for which I am truly grateful. This man knew more about radio and music programming than most people on this planet! His battle with Cancer has been more than heroic, the way in which he coped with it, through the amputation to the awful chemo, was inspiring.
He never stopped cracking jokes throughout.
My love goes to Stan and the family.
You, your jokes, your friendship, will be missed so much Pet!”
