To celebrate 50 years of BBC Radio1, BBC Sussex and BBC Surrey will be broadcasting a special Anniversary programme on the station.
My Radio 1 will hear Shaun Tilley, who was inspired to take up a career in broadcasting having listened to the network growing up in the 70s and early 80s, talk candidly to four of his boyhood heroes who later, became his colleagues.
The guests are Tony Blackburn, Mike Read, David Hamilton and Paul Burnett. Shaun will discuss with each what they themselves listened to in their youth, how they broke into the industry and their memories of being on Radio 1.
The show can be heard between 5-6am on Saturday 30th September in place of Shaun’s regular 70s and 80s Heaven which will return the following week.
