BBC Radio 5 live’s Big Day Out is returning in 2013, with Colin Murray, Robbie Savage and Mark Chapman going to Liverpool.
Following on from Fighting Talk’s Big Day Out last year in Stoke-on-Trent, Colin will be joined this year by Robbie and Mark, along with a host of special guests to guide the audience through an evening of sport and a special edition of Fighting Talk.
Colin says: “I’m really excited to be taking the Fighting Talk family back to Liverpool for our biggest audience show ever. The shows we’ve already done in the city have been amazing so whether you’re red, blue or neither, come along and enjoy the show.”
Robbie and Mark will also take to the stage to host a live version of Radio 5 live’s football phone-in, 606, alongside Jason Roberts and Darren Fletcher.
Robbie says: “After our last battle with Fighting Talk on the 5-live-a-side pitch in October ended in a draw I’m looking forward to settling the rivalry once and for all at the Big Day Out. I know the 606 listeners will come out in force – if only to challenge me on the various issues we’ve covered this season…and what I’m wearing.”
Commenting on Big Day Out, Radio 5 live’s Controller, Jonathan Wall, says: “Liverpool is the perfect destination for our biggest ever outside broadcast. The locals love their sport and like to talk about it a lot, so we’re bringing two of our flagship shows to the city to give listeners a rare chance to see the teams live in action. The arena is such an exciting atmospheric venue for live radio, I’m really looking forward to seeing it full of Radio 5 live fans and have no doubt Big Day Out 2013 will be a huge success.”
Radio 5 live’s Big Day Out takes place at the Echo Arena Liverpool on Saturday 1 June from 5.30pm.
