Radio presenter Mike James has been found dead in the Dee Radio studio on Saturday evening following a reported medical episode.
Mike, who was 62-year-old, was the station’s breakfast show presenter when he joined over 15 years ago but was more recently hosting Saturday sport.
He was on-air last Saturday 30th January from 2pm but his last link was heard just after 4pm, with the rest of the programme running in automation till 6pm.
The station made the sad announcement on social media today.
Programme Director Phil Rodgers said: “We are deeply saddened to hear this tragic news. Mike was an outstanding broadcaster and a good friend to everyone here at Chester’s Dee Radio, as well as a popular presenter amongst our listeners.
“Our thoughts are with his family at this very sad time.”
